JACKSON SAYS SHE WAS KEPT FROM COMMUNICATING
BY LINDA DEUTSCH
AP SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The mystery of Michael Jackson's mother's disappearance was clarified Thursday with the release of court papers that said she was kept from communicating with outsiders while at a resort and was unaware she had been reported missing.

Katherine Jackson declared in the documents that she learned she was the subject of a search when she accidentally heard a TV report.

Before that, she said, she was kept virtually incommunicado without access to a phone or her iPad. She said her stay at the Tucson resort was unplanned, and she went there after she was told her doctor had ordered her to rest.

Before that, she had intended to take a cross-country RV trip to see her sons perform in concerts.

"While there was a telephone in my room, the telephone was not functioning and I could not dial out," she said in the documents. "In addition, there was no picture on the television in my room."

She told of asking repeatedly to have the TV fixed.

"One morning I woke up to the sound of the television," she said. "While there was no picture, I heard a broadcast that stated I was missing."

Her declaration was attached to papers filed in a request to be reinstated as guardian of Michael's children, Prince, 15, Paris, 14 and Blanket, 10. Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff granted the request Thursday and temporarily named her nephew, TJ Jackson, as co-guardian.

Beckloff said last week that he didn't believe Katherine Jackson had done anything wrong but suspended her guardianship duties because she had been out of contact with her grandchildren for 10 days.

While at the resort, Jackson said, she was unaware that her grandchildren were worried about her and that her lawyer had flown to Tucson to contact her.

"While I was away, I had no reason to question whether the people with whom I placed trust would inform me that Prince, Paris and Blanket were trying to reach me," she said.

She said she had asked about the children and was told they were fine.

"The day before I was brought home from Tucson, I was finally permitted to use the phone to speak with Prince, Paris, Blanket and TJ," she said.

Some of Katherine Jackson's comments appeared in conflict with a statement she made to ABC News before she left Tucson.

Seated with her children Randy, Janet and Rebbie next to her, she read from a prepared statement saying she had not been held against her will

"My children would never do a thing to me like that, holding me against my will," she said. "It's very stupid for people to think that."

She said then that she was devastated at learning she had lost guardianship of her grandchildren and said the action "was based on a bunch of lies."

In the aftermath of what her attorney Perry Sanders Jr. called "the chaos," Katherine Jackson asked for a meeting with TJ Jackson and the lawyer to find out what was going on.

As a result, she said, she decided that TJ Jackson, who had been an unofficial co-guardian of the children, needed legal authority in case something happened in her absence.

Beckloff said during a hearing after Jackson resurfaced that an investigator who looked into the children's care found the late pop star's 82-year-old mother was an excellent guardian and the children love her.

"I think the kids are in terrific hands," the judge said. "It appears from the report that Katherine Jackson has done a wonderful job and cares about the children very much."

Beckloff noted that the children also have a close relationship with their 34-year-old cousin TJ Jackson, who was named temporary guardian last week after working closely with Katherine Jackson since Michael Jackson died.

TJ is "incredibly respectful" of the family matriarch and she is respectful of him, the judge said.

Beckloff said he will finalize the arrangement later this month but for now will issue letters of co-guardianship allowing both Jacksons to make decisions about the welfare of the children.

TJ Jackson's new co-guardianship status is temporary, but the judge could make it permanent when he convenes the next court hearing on Aug. 22.

The shared guardianship plan is apparently designed to remove pressure from Katherine Jackson who was previously named in her son's will as the children's sole guardian.

Sanders has said the arrangement will allow her to focus on the children's upbringing and not on home or logistics issues.

The changes in guardianship come on the heels of family dissension over Michael Jackson's will, which left nothing to his siblings when he died three years ago. Several of them signed a letter that was leaked to the media alleging the will was a fake and calling on executors of the estate to resign.

On Wednesday, Jermaine Jackson issued a plea for peace in the family and withdrew his support of the letter.

He wrote that the family is still raw from Michael Jackson's death, and his mother has endured incredible stress and pressures since then.

http://keepthis100.com/katherine-jacksons-court-sworn-declaration-typed-out/?utm_campaign=blog&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=tweet

Katherine Jackson’s Court Sworn Declaration (Typed Out)

I, Katherine Jackson, declare as follows:

1. The statements contained in this Declaration are based on my personal knowledge and experience. If called as a witness, I could and would testify competently to those facts.

2. On June 25, 2009, my son Michael Jackson passed away. The Will of my late son named me Guardian of the Person and Guardian of the Estate of Michael’s children, my grandchildren, Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr. (Prince), Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson (Paris), and Prince Michael Jackson, II (Blanket). Since their father’s death, my grandchildren have lived with me and been under my care. On August 3, 2009, I was appointed legal Guardian of the Person of Prince, Paris, and Blanket. My Guardianship of my grandchildren has remained consistent and uninterrupted until last Wednesday, July 25, 2012. I understand that at the time and given the circumstances, it was in the best interest of Prince, Paris, and Blanket for the Court to appoint my grandson, TJ Jackson as temporary guardian.

3. On July 15, 2012, I was scheduled to leave on a trip with my nephew in an RV to attend my sons’ concerts in New Mexico, Arizona, Las Vegas, and Southern California. On July 14, 2012, a doctor was brought to my home stating that he had been in contact with my longtime personal physician and was coming to check on me because my personal physician was unavailable. The doctor advised that it was better for me to fly and not drive to New Mexico. Believing that the doctor was sent at the request of my longtime personal physician, I followed what I understood to be the doctor’s orders and boarded a flight as opposed to driving in the motor home. I arrived at a resort in Tucson, Arizona and was told that the doctor further ordered me to rest. Based upon what I believed to be the orders of the office of my longtime personal physician, my phone was taken away. When one of the people with me asked if I could communicate with my iPad and I replied yes, my iPad was also taken away. While here was a telephone in my room, the telephone was not functioning and I could not dial out. In addition, there was not picture on the television in my room. Despite repeated requests to those with me to have it fixed, the television was never fixed. One morning I woke up to the sound of the television. While there was no picture, I heard a broadcast that stated I was missing. I was also ever told that my attorney Perry Sanders, Jr. had flown to Tucson in an attempt to meet with me in person in attempts to find out what was going on. I did not attend my sons’ concerts in New Mexico, Arizona, Las Vegas, and Southern California as originally anticipated.

4. When I asked about Prince, Paris, and Blanket, I was informed by those who I was with that they had been in contact with others concerning the well-being of my grandchildren. I was never informed that Prince, Paris, Blanket and TJ were trying to reach me. Had I known the fact, and if I had been provided with the means to contact Prince, Paris, Blanket and TJ, I would never have gone for such a long period of time without communicating with them. At the time, I trusted the people I was with to be honest with me. While I was away, I had no reason to question whether the people whom I placed trust would inform me that Prince, Paris, and Blanket were trying to reach me. The day before I was brought home from Tucson, I was finally permitted to use the phone to speak with Prince, Paris, Blanket and TJ.

5. Immediately upon leaving Tucson by car, I called my attorney Perry Sanders and informed him that I wanted to meet the next day to discuss what had been happening. That meeting took place the next day as planned and has resulted in this request to seek my reinstatement as Guardian of Prince, Paris and Blanket with my grandson TJ as Co-Guardian.

6. I am, and have been, very close with my grandson TJ and have relied on him to help me raise Prince, Paris, and Blanket since the death of their father. While I was away, I assumed that Prince, Paris, and Blanket would be secure and safe in the hands of the person who had essentially been acting as an informal Co-Guardian on many matters with me since my appointment as Guardian. What I did not realize at the time, is that certain situations could arise which would require TJ to have legal authority over Prince, Paris, and Blanket in order to ensure their safety and welfare. This realization is the reason I support TJ’s continuation as a temporary Co-Guardian and his petition to be appointed as a Co-Guardian now, and to serve alone as Guardian if there ever becomes a time that I can no longer serve with him as Co-Guardian.

7. I am ready to resume my duties as Guardian of my grandchildren Prince, Paris, and Blanket. My grandchildren have also informed me that it is their desire that I resume my role as their legal Guardian. However, I do recognize the need to have TJ legally appointed as a Co-Guardian so that we can work as a team to raise my grandchildren, meet their needs, and attend to their best interests.

8. TJ and I along with Prince, Paris, and Blanket are planning to travel out of California toward the end of August for a family function that will include a celebration involving the memory of my grandchildren’s father, and my son, Michael. It is important that security planning and travel arrangements for the trip be made soon so that the trip can go forward.

9. I agree to the terms of the requested modification to the order currently in place pertaining to the guardianship of Prince, Paris, and Blanket. I believe that such modifications are necessary and in the best interests of my grandchildren Prince, Paris, and Blanket Jackson.

I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of California that the foregoing is true and correct.

Executed on August 1, 2012 at Calabasas, California.

Katherine Jackson

JACKSONS SAY ESTATE EXECUTORS HARMING THE FAMILY
By SANDY COHEN
Aug. 3 10:22 PM EDT

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson say the executors of Michael Jackson's will are causing harm by damaging "fundamental family relationships" and isolating matriarch Katherine Jackson "from anyone questioning the validity of Michael's will."

The Jackson siblings released a statement late Friday through an attorney amid a fight over their brother's will with the executors of his estate.

On Thursday a judge named TJ Jackson, a cousin to Michael Jackson's three children, as co-guardian with Katherine Jackson, who was named their sole caretaker in the disputed will.

Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson accuse the executors of a "relentless" negative media campaign and say they have been barred from visiting their 82-year-old mother or Jackson's children.

"The effect of that notice not only is to damage fundamental family relationships, it is also to isolate Katherine Jackson from anyone questioning the validity of Michael's will," reads the statement by Janet Jackson's attorney, Blair G. Brown, released on behalf of Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson.

They say they will continue to contest Michael Jackson's will because "the executors have never explained how Michael could have signed his will in California on a date that irrefutable evidence establishes that he was in New York."

Representatives for the executors of the will did not immediately respond to calls and emails requesting comment. However, representatives for executors John Branca and John McClain released a statement some weeks ago saying, "Any doubts about the validity of Michael's will and his selection of Executors were thoroughly and completely debunked two years ago when a challenge was rejected by the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the California Court of Appeals and, finally, the California Supreme Court."

Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson say they will continue to contest Michael Jackson's will, adding, "they stand nothing to gain financially by a finding that the will is invalid."

"The individuals who have the most to lose by a finding that the will is invalid are, of course, the executors and those on the executors' payroll."

The siblings say they will "press forward in their search.

Janet Jackson and Two Siblings Still Want Michael Jackson’s Executors Out
08/04/12 1:12amRoger Friedman

Janet Jackson and siblings Rebbie and Randy are not stopping the fight to overturn Michael Jackson’s Will. They seem to have lost Jermaine, however. Janet put a statement from their lawyer, Blair Brown (not the famous actress) on her website, in which she and the remaining three vowed to keep fighting for “what Michael wanted.” What Michael wanted, however, was for all them to go away, and not be interested in his money. Paris Jackson Tweeted something to that effect today. Janet Jackson is no longer “the normal Jackson.” Her interest in this is peculiar to say the least. So is her antipathy to Michael’s co-executor John McClain. Without McClain, Janet would never have had a singing career. At this point, she’d be better off writing Randy a check and shutting this thing down.  Janet, Randy, and Rebbie’s letter is beyond clueless. They’re claiming the estate is managed badly. When Michael was alive, he was the defendant in dozens of lawsuits, and had nearly $400 million in debts. He had no home. Since he died, the estate has earned hundreds of millions of dollars; his children are secure for life. What the heck are these people talking about?

Janet Jackson keeps up fight for Michael Jackson's estate despite 'relentless' negative publicity
In a statement on behalf of Janet and her siblings Randy and Rebbie, lawyer Blair Brown reiterated the claim that executors John Branca and John McClain have never publicly explained how Michael could have signed a will with a Los Angeles dateline when evidence shows he was in New York with the Rev. Al Sharpton at the time.

Janet Jackson isn't backing down.
A lawyer for the "Control" singer said late Friday that she'll "press forward" with her battle against the executors of Michael Jackson's lucrative estate - even though the negative publicity has been "relentless."

"Since the loss of Michael, Janet, Randy and Rebbie's principal concern has been and continues to be for the safety and wellbeing of Michael's children, their mother Katherine Jackson, and the entire family," the statement said. "Unfortunately, those people have been harmed by the actions of the executors of Michael's estate."

The letter accuses the executors and "those installed and paid to do their bidding" of hiding behind the questionable documents and perpetrating a smear campaign related to treatment of matriarch Katherine Jackson and Michael's daughter Paris, 14.

"The negative media campaign generated by the executors and their agents has been relentless," the letter said. "In recent weeks, the media received preposterous reports - all now proven to be false - of a purported kidnapping of Katherine Jackson and of physical and verbal abuse of a child."

The family's feud went viral last week after a relative reported Katherine missing while she was spending 9-days in seclusion at an Arizona spa on an impromptu trip organized in part by Janet.

Paris complained about the situation on Twitter and celebrity website TMZ posted surveillance video from the kids' Calabasas house that showed Janet grabbing for Paris' cell phone during a tense confrontation.

TMZ also cited unidentified sources saying Janet slapped Paris and called her a "spoiled little b----." The report garnered widespread attention before TMZ retracted it Wednesday saying it never happened.

Janet's lawyer also took issue Friday with a recent estate edict banning Janet, Jermaine, Randy and Rebbie from Katherine's Calabasas house now that she's back home.

"The effect of that notice not only is to damage fundamental family relationships, it is also to isolate Katherine Jackson from anyone questioning the validity of Michael's will," he wrote in his Friday statement.

"It is important to stress that Janet, Randy and Rebbie have questioned the validity of the will with no financial motive whatsoever - the stand to gain nothing financially by a finding that the will is invalid," Brown wrote, noting that Michael's children are his beneficiaries either way.

"What will be gained by a finding of invalidity is that the executors will be replaced and the estate and the guardianship will be managed in a manner that is in the best interests of the children, which is what Michael wanted," Brown said.

The new statement follows after siblings Janet, Rebbie, Randy and Jermaine signed an earlier letter calling on the executors to resign. That letter claimed Katherine suffered a mini-stroke and was stressed out by the executors' actions.

The executors responded saying they were "saddened" by the "false and defamatory" accusations grounded in "stale Internet conspiracy theories."

Jermaine rescinded his signature from the letter earlier this week saying his young son was heartbroken over the ban on visits to Katherine's house.

Katherine, 82, temporarily lost custody of Michael's kids while in Arizona. A judge reinstated her Thursday as a co-guardian with grandson TJ Jackson, the 34-year-old son of Tito Jackson.

"Janet, Randy and Rebbie will continue to press forward in their search for the truth in order to carry out the wishes of their brother Michael," Brown wrote Friday.

For those interested in watching, Geraldo is doing an extensive report on the Jackson family drama, and it may take up the entire hour!

2 Aug Geraldo Rivera ‏@GeraldoRivera
It appears there was an attempted palace coup in the Jackson family. Janet was apparent ring leader, the brothers her alleged accomplices.

Tanay Jackson is currently on Geraldo, and she is still being referred to as Tito's daughter, despite 3T's denial of her. She claims to be speaking with the consent of the family, but won't disclose who gave it to her.

Tanay said that Janet tried to get Paris' iPhone because she wanted to stop the tweeting. So far, Geraldo hasn't asked her about 3T's denial
of her as their half sister. We'll see if he gives her a chance to addresss that. Tanay just denied the scuffle between Trent and Jermaine
ever took place, and claims that she "hasn't heard anything" about it.

Oh great! Geraldo has sensationalized his reporting by naming this episode "The Kidnapping Of Katherine Jackson"! Good grief!
whether she's truly Tito's daughter or not, she's using her alleged connection to the Jacksons to help her recording career

Geraldo just published photos of a "reunion" between Tanay, Joe Jackson, Majestik. She said it was mostly Joe's side of the family

Now some "journalist" from the National Enquirer is giving his worthless opinions on all of this. He blames Janet, Randy, and Jermaine's
greed of MJ's money for all of this. He says that the "mini stroke" story was a lie, and KJ's declaration proved that what she said
in her press conference at the hotel was fake. He also says Janet is "jealous" of Paris for getting that movie role.

The national enquirer reporter just said the Will is valid because several CA courts have already certified it.
There will be several estate lawyers who will appear later on in this episode, so at least Geraldo is inviting credible people to opine

Ok, so Tanay will be in the next segment, after commercials. Let's see if Geraldo asks her about 3T's denials of her as their half sister

Now, Geraldo is doing a report on the money that MJ's estate has earned, and he just played a clip of MJ's "Angry Black Man" speech from 02!
He's talking about the Jackson family's assertions that the will is fake because MJ was in NY on 7-7-02, and their crusade to have the
executors resign because they feel the will is forged.

Joe Jackson tried to challenge the will in 2009 after MJ died, but his claims were thrown out.

A music blogger named "Twiggy" is talking about the will, and another celebrity attorney is saying that the Jacksons don't have a case

Vicki Roberts, the celebrity attorney and Jermaine's former attorney, says that only if KJ is declared incompentant do they have a chance
of becoming beneificiaries.

Tanay is back and she says that KJ was not "kidnapped", and it was a "big misunderstanding", and she will stay out of the legalities of the
will, but she doesn't think the will is false, and MJ would have included his siblings if he wanted them to inherit and control his $

Here are the 3 attornyes! Mark Geragos and 2 others

Bob Massi says that the Jackson's don't have a case against the executors. Mark Geragos agrees with Tanay, and that money is the root

Anne Carrozza says that the Jackson family has no standing, and the Jackson are hoping for a settlement from the estate "w/o a doubt"

Geraldo just showed a clip of Tanay performing, she has her work cut out for her! lol

The other lawyers are saying that money is the root of all of this, and if the siblings had received money, they wouldn't be complaining

Anne Carrozza says that the MJ Trust puts all of KJ's money into a trust, and it passes to PPB when KJ dies. She says this plot was an
attempt to get money from KJ while she is alive. Geragos is now saying that an investigation isn't warranted in all of this

Tanay has the last word, and she says her aspiration is to do well and please her fans with her music. Geraldo once again referred to her
as 3T's sister, and didn't address their denials of her.

@LivinLifeWitLuv I've heard people say that she really is Tito's daughter, and proof that he cheated on his wife in the 80's, and 3T deny
her because she is living proof of their father's adultery, which led to their parent's divorce, and their mom was eventually killed by a subsequent boyfriend or husband (I don't know all of the facts).

@KarlaJorge Unfortunately, she was on throughout the entire show! It's a shame that Tanay had more airtime than the legal analysts!

@sanemjfan Fox are known for interviewing imposters - Geraldo had Susan Etok the fantasist on several times talking about Michael.

KATHERINE JACKSON Won't Press Charges  Against Her Children
8/6/2012 12:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Katherine Jackson has no plans to press charges against her own children over her recent "trip" to Arizona ... a lawyer for the Jackson family matriarch tells TMZ.

As TMZ first reported, Jackson's declaration following the Arizona spa ordeal -- which came as part of her bid to obtain co-guardianship over Prince, Paris, and Blanket -- seemed to suggest she was tricked into going and had no idea MJ's kids were worried about her. As part of the declaration, Jackson said, "At the time, I trusted the people I was with to be honest with me."

But Katherine's attorney, Perry Sanders, tells TMZ she has "absolutely" no plans to press charges over the incident, telling us, "This chapter of chaos is closed and we are supportive of family unity in spite of recent events and arguably poor decisions."

Janet Jackson is not after Michael's money, her attorney says
August 6, 2012 |  4:53 am

The two-week Jackson family drama took another turn with a statement issued by Janet Jackson's attorney blasting the executors of Michael Jackson's estate.

In the statement, Janet Jackson, her brother Randy and sister Rebbie strongly denied that they were trying to benefit financially from their late brother Michael's estate. They accused the executors of trying to divide the family and distract from questions about the legitimacy of Michael Jackson’s will.

“They stand to gain nothing financially by a finding that the will is invalid,” Blair G. Brown, a Washington attorney for Janet Jackson, wrote in the statement released Friday. “What will be gained ... is that the executors will be replaced and the estate and the guardianship will be managed in a manner that is in the best interest of the children, which is what Michael wanted."

Allegations that the siblings were holding their 82-year-old mother against her will in Arizona made international headlines last week and resulted in a new custody arrangement in which the family matriarch shares guardianship of Michael Jackson’s three children.

The 2002 will accepted by a probate judge after Jackson’s death three years ago gave music industry veterans John Branca and John McClain control of an estate with an estimated worth of $1 billion.
The court-approved compensation plan gives the executors a 10% cut of some earnings.

The siblings have said the will was faked and cited evidence that Michael Jackson was out of town on the day the will indicates he signed the document in Los Angeles.
A spokesman for the estate said Friday evening that the legal window for challenging the will has closed, but that two prior wills also named Branca executor and gave no power to Jackson’s siblings.

In his statement, Brown accused the executors of barring the three siblings from visiting their mother at the Calabasas home where she lives with her grandchildren.

"The effect ... not only is to damage fundamental family relationships, it is also to isolate Katherine Jackson from anyone questioning the validity of the will,” Brown wrote.

The executors’ spokesman said Katherine Jackson and the children’s newly appointed co-guardian, Tito Joe “T.J.” Jackson, have the final say on who is allowed at the residence.

DEBBIE ROWE TO JUDGE: I Support Joint  Guardianship of MJ's Kids
8/9/2012 4:55 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Debbie Rowe -- the woman who gave birth to two of Michael Jackson's children -- has filed legal papers saying she SUPPORTS the new joint guardianship arrangement ... but is warning TJ and Katherine that she WILL intervene if things don't work out.

Rowe filed the documents in L.A. County Superior Court today ... saying she has reviewed the co-guardianship application and signed off on the deal reached between TJ and Katherine to share parenting responsibilities for Paris, Blanket and Prince.

But in the docs, Debbie warns ... "Should the arrangement sought by TJ Jackson and Katherine Jackson become untenable, unstable, unsafe, or in any way contrary to the best interests of the children, Ms. Rowe will seek court intervention."

Rowe claims her concern is for the health, safety and well-being of HER children; and says she will continue to ensure their needs are met.

Remember, when TJ first petitioned for guardianship, the judge said that Debbie must be notified.

 by:AnthonY McCartneY on:August 22 2012

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A judge is expected to appoint Michael Jackson’s nephew as a co-guardian of the late pop superstar’s children on Wednesday, establishing continuity for them in case their grandmother becomes unable to raise them.

Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff has said he is inclined to appoint Tito Jackson’s son, TJ, to share guardianship responsibilities with Michael Jackson’s mother. The 34-year-old stepped in and was appointed a temporary guardian last month when Katherine Jackson was incommunicado during a stay at an Arizona spa with relatives.

Beckloff has said Katherine Jackson is doing a great job raising Prince, Paris and Blanket Jackson, who range in ages from 10 to 15. The Jackson family matriarch’s absence coincided with a split in the family over whether to support the executors of the late singer’s estate, some of whom think should resign.

Katherine and TJ Jackson have agreed to the co-guardianship arrangement, which is aimed at alleviating stress on the children’s 82-year grandmother. The agreement calls for the other to assume sole guardianship duties if the other is unable to serve any longer.

TJ Jackson was a relative unknown to the public before the recent rift in the family. He performs in a band called 3T along with his brothers and was close to his uncle, Michael, before the pop star died unexpectedly in June 2009 at age 50.

TJ Jackson is a cousin of the children and has remained close to them in the three years since the singer’s death.

Wednesday’s hearing is expected to be a legal formality, with TJ Jackson already earning the support of the two oldest children. Their mother, Deborah Rowe, has also indicated she is comfortable with the arrangement.

Three of Michael Jackson’s siblings, sisters Janet and Rebbie and younger brother Randy, have all expressed concerns about the administrators of the singer’s estate and called on them to resign. The window to contest the singer’s will is closed, but the trio said as recently as last week that challenging the executors remains their priority.

Jackson’s estate has generated more than $475 million in gross earnings since the singer’s death. He left his estate to benefit his mother and children, with a share allocated to unspecified charities.

Jacksons To Head To Court For Final Hearing In Custody Saga
August 22, 2012 6:05 AM

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday to finalize the guardianship of the late Michael Jackson’s three children — a duty being shared by Jackson’s mother and nephew.

Earlier this month, Katherine Jackson, 82, was reinstated as the permanent guardian of the children — sons Prince, 15, and Blanket, 10, and daughter Paris, 14. But Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff also agreed to keep TJ Jackson, the 34-year-old son of one of Michael Jackson’s brothers, Tito, as a temporary guardian.

TJ Jackson was named temporary guardian last month during an extended absence by Katherine Jackson, who was at a spa in Arizona. Her absence, combined with the children’s inability to contact her, led to a highly publicized family squabble and a series of angry Twitter messages by Paris Jackson, who insinuated some of her relatives were conspiring to keep her grandmother away.

Once Katherine Jackson returned to the Southland, all parties returned to court Aug. 2 with an agreement to have her and TJ Jackson share guardianship duties. Beckloff agreed, pending today’s hearing to finalize the arrangement.

In a sworn declaration submitted to the court earlier this month, Katherine Jackson said she did not know her grandchildren were trying to reach her while she was away for roughly 10 days at a spa in Tucson, Ariz., because an iPad was taken away from her, her room telephone was not working, and her television had sound, but no picture. She said that had she known the three were trying to contact her, she would not have been gone so long.

She also stated that she supports having TJ as co-guardian.

“I am, and have been, very close with my grandson TJ and have relied on him to help me raise Prince, Paris and Blanket since the death of their father,” she said. “While I was away, I assumed that (the children) would be secure and safe in the hands of the person who had essentially been acting as an informal co-guardian on many matters with me since my appointment as guardian.”

She said she realizes that certain situations can arise that would require TJ to have legal authority over the three children in order to ensure their safety and welfare.

“This realization is the reason I support TJ’s continuation as a temporary co-guardian … and to serve alone as guardian if there ever becomes a time that I can no longer serve with him as co-guardian,” she said.

Katherine Jackson’s absence coincided with a letter sent by Jackson siblings — Randy, Janet, Jermaine, Tito and Rebbie — to the executors of Michael Jackson’s estate, challenging the validity of his will. They contended Jackson was in New York the day the executors claim he signed the will in Los Angeles.

Judge Expected To Split Guardianship Of Jackson Kids Between TJ, Katherine Jackson

The Jackson family drama will return to court in Los Angeles Wednesday, when a judge is expected to grant TJ Jackson the status of co-guardian, along with family matriarch Katherine, for Michael's three children, Blanket, Paris and Prince.

The ruling will come weeks after a string of bizarre incidents involving the 82-year-old grandmother/guardian, who was whisked away to an Arizona resort by her children and out of contact with the grandkids for 11 days.

TJ, 34, was appointed a temporary co-guardian in July by Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff in the wake of Katherine's mysterious trip.

Both TJ and Katherine have signed off on the dual guardianship arrangement, and Prince and Paris are said to be satisfied with it, as well. Should something happen to TJ or Katherine, the other would assume sole guardianship of the three kids.

TJ, 34, is a cousin on the children and the son of Tito Jackson. He sings in a band called 3T.

TJ JACKSON Officially Co-Guardian Of Michael Jackson's Kids
8/22/2012 11:12 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

TJ Jackson is now PERMANENTLY sharing guardianship of Michael Jackson's children with their grandmother Katherine Jackson, an L.A. judge just ruled.

As we previously reported, TJ was awarded temporary co-guardianship of Prince, Paris, and Blanket along with Katherine ... but that was made permanent today.

TJ has received enormous support from the Jackson family to take a guardianship role, including from Katherine herself ... as well as MJ's kids. TJ has been a father figure to the children for years.

The judge told TJ in court to be mindful of the giant rift currently tearing apart the Jackson family -- and asked TJ to make sure the children aren't negatively affected.

As co-guardian, TJ will assume many of the day-to-day tasks involved in taking care of the children -- including management of household personnel and security
