Gov. Markell To Proclaim July As Vitiligo Awareness Month
Governor Jack Markell will bring awareness to a rare skin disorder on Monday.
Markell will be joined by members of the Delaware Vitiligo Support and Awareness Group in his office in the Tatnall Building in Dover. He’ll be signing a proclamation declaring July as Vitiligo Awareness Month. Vitiligo is a condition in which white patches develop on the skin because of the destruction of the cells that make pigment. The cause of the disease is not known, and there is no known cure or treatment.
Monday’s ceremony will begin at 3:45 p.m.
