'Glee' preview: Michael Jackson's 'Thriller
« on: January 24, 2011, 11:44:47 AM »

With the Super Bowl episode of "Glee" now only two weeks away, we are finally getting the opportunity to hear some of the music that is going to be airing following football's biggest game in the Super Bowl.
The first choice is really one we have all known about for some time -- Michael Jackson's "Thriller." What does make this version interesting, though, is that Kevin McHale's Artie actually seems to be in the lead role. This is certainly a nice change-up for what has been one of the show's most-hyped songs ever. Then again, will everyone be happy with a mash-up, or would the song be better on its own?

We knew it was coming, and now we have our first sneak peek listen at Glee’s version of the Michael Jackson hit “Thriller”. It will be mashed up with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Heads Will Roll”, giving the song a fun update. And Lea Michele acknowledges that you never out-do such a classic song, telling EW.com, “You can never recreate something as incredible as ‘Thriller,’ and I don’t think we’re trying to. We’re making it our own.” The song will play during a football championship game’s halftime. Also in this preview: the show’s rendition of The Zombies’ “She’s Not There” and the Warblers’ take on Destiny’s Child’s “Bills, Bills, Bills.” Yes, that means Darren Criss singing some Beyoncé! The episode airs on Feb. 6 in the US right after the Super Bowl, and a little later for us. Press play to hear the previews.

:purplebouncy: I think this is good, and I am happy if they 'make it their own'.  I love any positive celebration of Michael.  :purplebouncy:
